Is there a connection to the word "Shalom" and the Lord's title of "the beginning and the end"?
"Shalom" is the Hebrew word for the greeting "Hello", as well as the farewell "Goodbye". Meanwhile, one of the Lord's title is "the alpha and the omega, the beginning and the end." Somehow, I think there is a significant connection between these two concepts, since it depicts the theme of continuity through opposites, or change, and therefore sameness, or oneness, which is a common theme in Judaism (besides emphasis on the Law). For instance, -1 and +1 both have a value of 1, only its "direction" in respect to zero differs. The idea of absolute value describes the idea of a revealed world through positive numbered items (e.g. One Book), which is an object that exists, and the idea of a unrevealed world, the negative numbers which in essence does not exist (but nonetheless is still there). Similarly, this can be found in Genesis, when G*d reveals land by separating the waters. Land was already there, it just had to be revealed, like negative numbers. I wonder if this is why the Holy Bible has 2 parts to it as well?
