Why am I defending Christians so much as a nonbeliever?

Maybe because the intellectual arguments from those against Christians are based upon non scholarly thought. I think that's why I think nonbelievers are wrong about their critiques on the Bible. They don't dig into the scholarly realm at all, it appears.
