What is public high school like?

Not going to lie it can be a war zone sometimes, but as for your questions yeah you can carry purses in cl, in our school the first thing we do is go to our lockers then to first period, but on the first day its to the gym to get our schedules, you can sit anywhere you'd like unless the teacher puts you in a igned seat, and do... well... whatever your instincts tell you.
